    What is Chlor-Trimeton and how is it used?

    Chlor-Trimeton is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose (Allergic Rhinitis). Chlor-Trimeton may be used alone or with other medications.

    Chlor-Trimeton belongs to a class of drugs called Antihistamines, 1st Generation.

    It is not known if Chlor-Trimeton is safe and effective in children younger than 2 years of age.

    What are the possible side effects of Chlor-Trimeton?

    Chlor-Trimeton may cause serious side effects including:

    • fast or uneven heart rate,
    • mood changes,
    • tremor,
    • seizure,
    • easy bruising or bleeding,
    • unusual weakness,
    • feeling short of breath, and
    • little or no urinating

    Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.

    The most common side effects of Chlor-Trimeton include:

    Active ingredient (in each tablet): Chlorpheniramine Maleate 12 mg.

    Inactive ingredients: acacia, calcium phosphate tribasic, calcium sulfate, carnauba wax, corn starch, FD&C yellow No. 6, FD&C yellow No. 6 aluminum lake, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, neutral soap, oleic acid, pharmaceutical ink, povidone, rosin, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide, white wax, zein

    Indications & Dosage

    INDICATIONS

    Purpose: Antihistamine

    Uses:

    • temporarily relieves the following symptoms due to hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies:
      • sneezing
      • runny nose
      • itchy, watery eyes
      • itching of the nose or throat

    DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

    Directions

    • adults and children 12 years and over: 1 tablet every 12 hours. Do not exceed 2 tablets in 24 hours.
    • children under 12 years of age: ask a doctor

    HOW SUPPLIED

    Other information

    • each tablet contains: calcium 30 mg
    • store between 20 and 25°C (68 and 77°F)
