Xiidra (lifitegrast ophthalmic solution) and Rhopressa (netarsudil ophthalmic solution) are used to treat different eye conditions.

Xiidra is used to treat the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease (DED).

Rhopressa is used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Xiidra and Rhopressa belong to different drug classes. Xiidra is a lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1) antagonist and Rhopressa is a Rho kinase inhibitor.

Side effects of Xiidra that are different from Rhopressa include eye irritation or discomfort, changes in taste, and blurred vision.

Side effects of Rhopressa that are different from Xiidra include eye redness, corneal abnormalities, instillation site pain, and burst blood vessels in the eye.

Both Xiidra and Rhopressa may interact with other drugs.

Rhopressa (netarsudil ophthalmic solution) is a Rho kinase inhibitor indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Xiidra may interact with other drugs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. During pregnancy, Xiidra should be used only if prescribed; it is unknown if it would affect a fetus. It is unknown if Xiidra passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Rhopressa may interact with other drugs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant before using Rhopressa; it is unknown if it would affect a fetus. It is unknown if Rhopressa passes into breast milk. The dose of Xiidra is one drop twice daily in each eye (approximately 12 hours apart). Contact lenses should be removed prior to administration of Xiidra and can be reinserted 15 minutes after administration.

The dose of Rhopressa is one drop into the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.
