Temovate (clobetasol propionate) and Hydrocortisone Cream are topical (for the skin) steroids used to treat inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis.

Common side effects of Temovate include:

• burning,
• stinging,
• itching,
• dryness,
• redness, or
• rash at the application site when first applied to the skin. This should disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to Temovate.

Other side effects of Temovate include:

• dry or cracking skin,
• thinning or softening of your skin,
• skin rash or irritation around your mouth,
• swollen hair follicles,
• temporary hair loss,
• spider veins,
• changes in color of treated skin,
• blisters,
• pimples,
• acne,
• crusting of treated skin,
• extreme/unwanted hair growth,
• "hair bumps" (folliculitis), or
• stretch marks.

Common side effects of Hydrocortisone include:

• skin redness/burning/itching/peeling,
• thinning of your skin,
• blistering skin,
• stretch marks,
• nausea,
• heartburn,
• headache,
• dizziness,
• menstrual period changes,
• trouble sleeping (insomnia),
• increased sweating, or
• acne.

Tell your doctor if you have any serious side effects of Hydrocortisone Cream including blurred vision, or seeing halos around lights, uneven heartbeats, weight gain, puffiness in your face, or feeling tired.

Hydrocortisone (hydrocortisone) Cream 2.5% is a topical (for the skin) steroid used to treat inflammation of the skin caused by a number of conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, or psoriasis.

Temovate may interact with corticosteroids taken by mouth or drugs that lower the immune system. Tell your doctor about all medications you are taking.

It is not likely other drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on topically applied hydrocortisone. But many drugs can interact with each other. Tell your doctor all prescription and over-the-counter medications and supplements you use. During pregnancy, hydrocortisone should be used only when prescribed. Infants born to mothers who have been using this medication for an extended period of time may have hormone problems.

Temovate Cream or Ointment is applied topically (on the skin) to the affected areas twice daily. Treatment should be limited to 2 consecutive weeks and amounts greater than 50 g/week should not be used.

Dose and administration: Apply hydrocortisone cream to the affected area as a thin film 2 to 4 times daily depending on the severity of the condition.
