Are Anoro Ellipta and Incruse Ellipta the Same Thing?

Anoro Ellipta (umeclidinium and vilanterol) Inhalation Powder and Incruse Ellipta (umeclidinium) Inhalation Powder are used for the long-term, once-daily, maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.

Anoro Ellipta and Incruse Ellipta both contain an anticholinergic. Anoro Ellipta also contains a long acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist (LABA).

Side effects of Anoro Ellipta and Incruse Ellipta that are similar include sore throat, sinusitis, respiratory tract infection, constipation, muscle spasms/pain, chest pain or discomfort, cough, stomach/abdominal pain, and fast or irregular heartbeats.

Side effects of Anoro Ellipta that are different from Incruse Ellipta include diarrhea, pain in extremities, neck pain, indigestion, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), vomiting, weakness, itching, rash, conjunctivitis, hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis and hives, changes in taste, tremor, and anxiety.

Side effects of Incruse Ellipta that are different from Anoro Ellipta include stuffy or runny nose, joint pain, tooth pain, and bruising or dark areas of skin.

Both Anoro Ellipta and Incruse Ellipta may interact with other anticholinergic drugs.

Anoro Ellipta may also interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), antidepressants, beta-blockers, and diuretics (water pills).

Common side effects of Anoro Ellipta include:

What Drugs Interact With Anoro Ellipta?

Anoro Ellipta may interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), antidepressants, beta blockers, diuretics, and other anticholinergic drugs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. During pregnancy, Anoro Ellipta should be used only if prescribed. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before taking Anoro Ellipta or if you become pregnant during treatment. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
