Side effects of QuilliChew ER and Aptensio XR that are similar include dizziness, rapid heart rate, decreased appetite, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, sleep problems (insomnia), and fever.
Side effects of QuilliChew ER that are different from Aptensio XR include weight loss, anxiety, irritability, mood swings, aggression, indigestion, dry mouth, nervousness, restlessness, agitation, spinning sensation (vertigo), tremor, blurred vision, palpitations, increased sweating, and increased blood pressure.
Both QuilliChew ER and Aptensio XR may interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Withdrawal symptoms may occur if you suddenly stop taking QuilliChew ER or Aptensio XR.

During pregnancy, QuilliChew ER should be used only if prescribed. It is unknown if it would affect a fetus. QuilliChew ER passes into breast milk. It is unknown if it would affect a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. Withdrawal symptoms may occur if you suddenly stop taking QuilliChew ER.

Aptensio XR may interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. During pregnancy, Aptensio XR should be used only if prescribed. Premature delivery and low birth weight infants have been reported in amphetamine-dependent mothers. Aptensio XR passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. Withdrawal symptoms may occur if you suddenly stop taking Aptensio XR.
How Should Quillichew ER Be Taken?
For patients 6 years and above, the recommended starting dose of QuilliChew ER is 20 mg given orally once daily in the morning.
How Should Aptensio XR Be Taken?
The recommended starting dose of Aptensio XR for patients 6 years and above is 10 mg once daily with or without food in the morning. Dosage may be increased weekly in increments of 10 mg per day. Daily dosage above 60 mg is not recommended.
