Tecentriq vs. Trodelvy

Tecentriq (atezolizumab) and Trodelvy (sacituzumab govitecan-hziy) are monoclonal antibodies used to treat different types of cancer.

Tecentriq is used to treat patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma (cancer) who have disease progression during or following platinum-containing chemotherapy, or have disease progression within 12 months of neoadjuvant or adjuvant treatment with platinum-containing chemotherapy.

Trodelvy is used to treat adult patients with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC) who have received at least two prior therapies for metastatic disease.

Side effects of Tecentriq and Trodelvy that are similar include fatigue, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, anemia, and rash.

Side effects of Tecentriq that are different from Trodelvy include urinary tract infection (UTI), fever, swelling of the extremities, back or neck pain, joint pain, dehydration, itching, intestinal obstruction, urinary obstruction, blood in urine, shortness of breath, cough, acute kidney injury, venous thromboembolism, severe infection (sepsis), and pneumonia.

Side effects of Trodelvy that are different from Tecentriq include low white blood cell count (neutropenia) and hair loss.

Tecentriq may interact with other drugs.

Trodelvy may interact with UGT1A1 inhibitors or inducers.

Trodelvy (sacituzumab govitecan-hziy) is a Trop-2-directed antibody and topoisomerase inhibitor conjugate used to treat adult patients with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC) who have received at least two prior therapies for metastatic disease.

The recommended dose of Tecentriq is 1200 mg administered as an intravenous infusion over 60 minutes every 3 weeks until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.

The recommended dose of Trodelvy is 10 mg/kg once weekly on Days 1 and 8 of continuous 21-day treatment cycles until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.
