Are Reyvow and Aimovig the Same Thing?
Reyvow (lasmiditan) and Aimovig (erenumab-aooe) Injection are used to prevent or treat migraine.
Reyvow is used for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults. Reyvow is not indicated for the preventive treatment of migraine.
Aimovig is indicated for the preventive treatment of migraine in adults.
Reyvow and Aimovig belong to different drug classes. Reyvow is a serotonin (5-HT) 1F receptor agonist and Aimovig is a calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor antagonist.
Side effects of Reyvow that are different from Aimovig include dizziness, fatigue, numbness and tingling, sedation, nausea, and vomiting.
Side effects of Aimovig that are different from Reyvow include injection site reactions (pain or redness), constipation, and muscle spasms or cramps.
Reyvow may interact with alcohol or other CNS depressants, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors, trazodone, dextromethorphan, St. John's wort, medications that lower heart rate, and P-gp or BCRP substrates.
Aimovig may interact with other drugs.

Aimovig may interact with other drugs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use.
How Should Reyvow Be Taken?
The recommended dose of Reyvow is 50 mg, 100 mg, or 200 mg taken orally, as needed. No more than one dose of Reyvow should be taken in 24 hours.
How Should Aimovig Be Taken?
The recommended dosage of Aimovig is 70 mg once monthly; some patients may benefit from a dosage of 140 mg once monthly, which is administered as two consecutive subcutaneous injections of 70 mg each.
