AccuNeb (albuterol sulfate inhalation solution) is a bronchodilator used to treat or prevent bronchospasm in patients 2 to 12 years of age with reversible obstructive airway disease. AccuNeb is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm. AccuNeb is available in generic form. Common side effects of AccuNeb include:
The usual starting dosage of AccuNeb for patients 2 to 12 years of age is 1.25 mg or 0.63 mg administered 3 or 4 times daily, as needed, by nebulization. AccuNeb may interact with diuretics (water pills), digoxin, beta-blockers, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (MAOIs), or other bronchodilators. Tell your doctor all medications you are taking. AccuNeb should only be used during pregnancy if prescribed. This medication may be harmful to a fetus. It is not known whether this medication passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
