Suggested dosing of Cetraria islandica, eryngo leaved liverwort (Iceland moss)

 

Dried Plant

4-6 g/d div TID PO

 

Tea

1 cup several times daily. Steep or simmer 1.5-3 grams of the dried plant in 150 mL boiling water for 5-10 minutes and then strain

 

Suggested uses of Cetraria islandica, eryngo leaved liverwort (Iceland moss)

Bronchitis, cough, fever, dyspepsia, appetite loss, sore throat, vomiting

 

Efficacy

Has antiinflammatory, antiemetic & demulcent activity

Reportedly also a galactogogue

GI irritation & liver problems (if used in excessive doses & for prolonged periods)

In rare cases, external use can trigger sensitivity reactions
