A serious allergic reaction to Patanol is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if you have symptoms of a serious allergic reaction including rash, itching or swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), dizziness, or trouble breathing.

Naphcon A is available over-the-counter (OTC).
What Is Patanol?
Patanol (olopatadine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) 0.1 % is an antihistamine used to treat ocular (eye) symptoms of allergic conditions, such as inflammation, itching, watering, and burning.
What Drugs Interact With Naphcon A?
Naphcon A may interact with:
- MAO inhibitors,
- drugs for high blood pressure, and
- tricyclic antidepressants

What Drugs Interact With Patanol?
There may be other drugs that can interact with Patanol. Tell your doctor about all your prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start a new medication without telling your doctor.
How Should Naphcon A be Taken?
The dose of Naphcon A for adults and children 6 years and over is 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) up to 4 times daily.
How Should Patanol be Taken?
The recommended dose of Patanol is one drop in each affected eye two times per day at an interval of 6 to 8 hours.
