Definition of Radicular pain

Radicular pain: pain that originates from a compressed nerve root at the spine. The pain radiates into the extremity affected by the spinal nerve root. Radicular pain is caused by compression, inflammation, or injury to a spinal nerve root and can be felt in the arm or leg. Common conditions such as a herniated disc often lead to radicular pain. Sciatica is one type of radicular pain.
