Eucrisa (crisaborole) and Temovate (clobetasol propionate) are indicated for topical treatment of atopic dermatitis (eczema).

Temovate is also used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions and psoriasis.

Eucrisa and Temovate belong to different drug classes. Eucrisa is a phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor and Temovate is a steroid.

Common side effects of Eucrisa include:

• application site pain

Common side effects of Temovate include:

• burning,
• stinging,
• itching,
• dryness,
• redness, or
• rash at the application site when first applied to the skin. This should disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to Temovate.

Other side effects of Temovate include:

• dry or cracking skin,
• thinning or softening of your skin,
• skin rash or irritation around your mouth,
• swollen hair follicles,
• temporary hair loss,
• spider veins,
• changes in color of treated skin,
• blisters,
• pimples,
• acne,
• crusting of treated skin,
• extreme/unwanted hair growth,
• "hair bumps" (folliculitis), or
• stretch marks.

Eucrisa (crisaborole) ointment, 2%, for topical use is a phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor indicated for topical treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis in patients 2 years of age and older.

Temovate (clobetasol propionate) is a topical (for the skin) steroid used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis.

Eucrisa may interact with ther drugs..

Temovate may interact with corticosteroids taken by mouth or drugs that lower the immune system. Tell your doctor about all medications you are taking.

• Use Eucrisa exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to use it.
• Apply a thin layer of Eucrisa to the affected areas 2 times each day.
• Wash your hands after applying Eucrisa, unless hands are being treated. If someone else applies Eucrisa for you, they should wash their hands after applying Eucrisa.

Temovate Cream or Ointment is applied topically (on the skin) to the affected areas twice daily. Treatment should be limited to 2 consecutive weeks and amounts greater than 50 g/week should not be used..
