What Is Vazculep?

Vazculep (phenylephrine hydrochloride) Injection is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist used for the treatment of clinically important hypotension resulting primarily from vasodilation in the setting of anesthesia.

What Are Side Effects for Vazculep?

Common side effects of Vazculep include:

  • slowed heart rate
  • low blood pressure (hypertension)
  • stomach or abdominal pain
  • nausea
  • headache
  • blurred vision
  • high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • shortness of breath, and
  • itching

Dosage for Vazculep

The recommended initial dose for the treatment of hypotension during anesthesia is 40 to 100 mcg administered intravenously.
