Medically reviewed by Min Clinic Staff | Updated: January 2026

Intravitreal injection for wet (exudative) age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a procedure that uses injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) to treat choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVs) associated with age-related macular degeneration (AMD or ARMD). CNVs are abnormal blood vessels that grow in the retina of the eye in so-called exudative or wet macular degeneration.
