    What is Entex-T and how is it used?

    Entex-T is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of Cough and Nasal Congestion caused by the common cold or allergies. Entex-T may be used alone or with other medications.

    Entex-T belongs to a class of drugs called Cold/Cough, Other Combos; Decongestant/Expectorant Combos.

    It is not known if Entex-T is safe and effective in children younger than 6 years of age.

    What are the possible side effects of Entex-T?

    Entex-T may cause serious side effects including:

    • hives,
    • difficulty breathing,
    • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
    • dizziness,
    • fainting,
    • fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeat,
    • mental or mood changes,
    • anxiety,
    • confusion,
    • nervousness,
    • irritability,
    • shaking,
    • trouble sleeping,
    • difficult or painful urination,
    • rash,
    • itching, and
    • severe dizziness

    Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.

    The most common side effects of Entex-T include:

    • nausea, and
    • headache

    Indications & Dosage

    INDICATIONS

    Purpose

    Guaifenesin, USP Expectorant
    Pseudoephedrine HCl, USP Nasal decongestant

    Uses

    • helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to rid the bronchial passageways of bothersome mucus and make coughs more productive
    • temporarily relieves nasal congestion due to:
      • common cold
      • hay fever
      • upper respiratory allergies (allergic rhinitis)
    • temporarily restores freer breathing through the nose
    • promotes nasal and/or sinus drainage
    • temporarily relieves sinus congestion and pressure

    DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

    Directions

    • Do not exceed 4 doses in a 24 hour period
    • Adults and children 12 years of age and over: 1 tablet every 4 hours.
    • Children 6 to under 12 years of age: 1/2 tablet every 4 hours.

    HOW SUPPLIED

    • tamper evident: do not use if foil seal under the cap is broken or missing.
    • contains 4 mg sodium in each tablet
    • contains less than 1 mg magnesium in each tablet

    Inactive Ingredients

    croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, sodium starch glycolate and starch.

    Do not use if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson’s Disease), or for two weeks after stopping the MAOI drug.
