Rocklatan vs. Vyzulta

Rocklatan (netarsudil and latanoprost ophthalmic solution) and Vyzulta (latanoprostene bunod ophthalmic solution) 0.024%, for topical ophthalmic use are used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Both Rocklatan and Vyzulta contain a prostaglandin analog. Rocklatan also contains a Rho kinase inhibitor.

Side effects of Rocklatan and Vyzulta that are similar include eye redness and instillation site pain.

Side effects of Rocklatan that are different from Vyzulta include whorl-like pattern of golden brown or gray deposits in the eye (corneal verticillata) and broken blood vessels in the eye.

Side effects of Vyzulta that are different from Rocklatan include eye discharge, eye irritation, eye pain, and eyelash changes.

Rocklatan may interact with thimerosal used at the same time and prostaglandins or prostaglandin analogs.

Vyzulta may interact with other drugs.

Common side effects of Rocklatan include:

• eye redness,
• instillation site pain,
• whorl-like pattern of golden brown or gray deposits in the eye (corneal verticillata), and
• broken blood vessels in the eye

Common side effects of Vyzulta include:

• eye redness and discharge,
• eye irritation,
• eye pain,
• eyelash changes,
• and pain on instilling the drops.

Vyzulta (latanoprostene bunod ophthalmic solution) 0.024%, for topical ophthalmic use is a prostaglandin analog indicated for the reduction of intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Rocklatan may interact with thimerosal used at the same time prostaglandins or prostaglandin analogs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant before using Rocklatan; it is unknown how it would affect a fetus. It is unknown if Rocklatan passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Vyzulta may interact with other drugs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use.

The dose of Rocklatan is one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.

The dose of Vyzulta is one drop in the affected eye(s)once daily in the evening. If more than one topical ophthalmic drug is being used, the drugs should be administered with at least five (5) minutes between applications.
