Anoro Ellipta (umeclidinium and vilanterol) Inhalation Powder and Trelegy Ellipta (fluticasone furoate, umeclidinium, and vilanterol inhalation powder) are used for the long-term, once-daily, maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.

Anoro Ellipta and Trelegy Ellipta are combinations of anticholinergics and long acting beta-adrenoceptor agonists (LABAs). Trelegy Ellipta also contains a corticosteroid.

Side effects of Anoro Ellipta and Trelegy Ellipta that are similar include sore throat, diarrhea, cough, vomiting, and changes in taste.

Side effects of Anoro Ellipta that are different from Trelegy Ellipta include sinusitis, respiratory tract infection, constipation, pain in extremities, muscle spasms, neck pain, chest pain or discomfort, indigestion, abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), weakness, irregular heartbeats, itching, rash, conjunctivitis, palpitations, hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis and hives, tremor, and anxiety.

Side effects of Trelegy Ellipta that are different from Anoro Ellipta include headache, back pain, mouth pain, and gastroenteritis (nausea, cramps, and fever).

Both Anoro Ellipta and Trelegy Ellipta may interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), antidepressants, beta-blockers, diuretics (water pills), and other anticholinergic drugs.

Trelegy Ellipta may also interact with ketoconazole and other azole antifungals, antiviral medications, conivaptan, nefazodone, and macrolide antibiotics.

Common side effects of Anoro Ellipta include:

Trelegy Ellipta (fluticasone furoate, umeclidinium, and vilanterol inhalation powder), for oral inhalation is a combination of an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS), an anticholinergic, and a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA), indicated for the long-term once-daily, maintenance treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema, who are on a fixed-dose combination of fluticasone furoate and vilanterol for airflow obstruction and reducing exacerbations in whom additional treatment of airflow obstruction is desired or for patients who are already receiving umeclidinium and a fixed-dose combination of fluticasone furoate and vilanterol.

Anoro Ellipta may interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), antidepressants, beta blockers, diuretics, and other anticholinergic drugs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. During pregnancy, Anoro Ellipta should be used only if prescribed. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before taking Anoro Ellipta or if you become pregnant during treatment. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Trelegy Ellipta may interact with ketoconazole and other azole antifungals, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), tricyclic antidepressants, beta-blockers, diuretics, antocholinergics, antiviral medications, conivaptan, nefazodone, and macrolide antibiotics. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant before using Trelegy Ellipta; it is unknown how it would affect a fetus. It is unknown if Trelegy Ellipta passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Anoro Ellipta is administered as 1 inhalation dose once daily by the orally inhaled route only.

The dose of Trelegy Ellipta for maintenance treatment of COPD is 1 inhalation once daily.
