Anoro Ellipta (umeclidinium and vilanterol) Inhalation Powder and Bevespi Aerosphere (glycopyrrolate and formoterol fumarate) inhalation aerosol are combinations of anticholinergics and long acting beta-adrenoceptor agonists (LABAs) used for the long-term, once-daily, maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.

Side effects of Anoro Ellipta and Bevespi Aerosphere that are similar include cough.

Side effects of Anoro Ellipta that are different from Bevespi Aerosphere include sore throat, sinusitis, respiratory tract infection, constipation, diarrhea, pain in extremities, muscle spasms, neck pain, chest pain or discomfort, indigestion, abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), vomiting, weakness, irregular heartbeats, itching, rash, conjunctivitis, palpitations, hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis and hives, changes in taste, tremor, and anxiety.

Side effects of Bevespi Aerosphere that are different from Anoro Ellipta include urinary tract infection (UTI).

Both Anoro Ellipta and Bevespi Aerosphere may interact with antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), beta-blockers, diuretics (water pills), and anticholinergics.

Bevespi Aerosphere may also interact with other adrenergic drugs, xanthine derivatives, steroids, and other drugs that prolong the QTc interval.

Common side effects of Anoro Ellipta include:

• sore throat,
• sinusitis,
• respiratory tract infection,
• constipation,
• diarrhea,
• pain in extremities,
• muscle spasms,
• neck pain,
• chest pain or discomfort,
• cough,
• indigestion,
• abdominal pain,
• gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD),
• vomiting,
• weakness,
• irregular heart beats,
• itching,
• rash,
• conjunctivitis,
• palpitations,
• hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis and hives,
• changes in taste,
• tremor, and
• anxiety.

Common side effects of Bevespi Aerosphere include:

Bevespi Aerosphere (fluticasone and salmeterol oral inhaler) is a combination of a corticosteroid and a beta2-adrenergic bronchodilator used to treat asthma and chronic bronchitis, including COPD associated with chronic bronchitis. Bevespi Aerosphere is used in patients whose symptoms are not adequately controlled on a long-term asthma control medication, since one of the active ingredients in salmeterol is LABA, which has been linked to asthma-related deaths. Bevespi Aerosphere should not be used to treat acute episodes of asthma or COPD. Bevespi Aerosphere is available in generic form.

Anoro Ellipta may interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), antidepressants, beta blockers, diuretics, and other anticholinergic drugs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. During pregnancy, Anoro Ellipta should be used only if prescribed. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before taking Anoro Ellipta or if you become pregnant during treatment. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Bevespi Aerosphere may interact with other adrenergic drugs, xanthine derivatives, steroids, diuretics, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, other drugs that prolong the QTc interval, beta-blockers, and anticholinergics. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. During pregnancy, Bevespi Aerosphere should be used only if prescribed. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Bevespi Aerosphere. It is unknown if Bevespi Aerosphere passes into breast milk. Breastfeeding while taking Bevespi Aerosphere is not recommended.

Anoro Ellipta is administered as 1 inhalation dose once daily by the orally inhaled route only.

The dosage of Bevespi Aerosphere for maintenance treatment of COPD is 2 inhalations twice daily.
