Tolnaftate

Tolnaftate is used to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It is an antifungal that works by preventing the growth of fungus.

Tolnaftate is available under the following different brand names: Tinactin, Aftate, Barielle Fungus Rx, Breezee Mist Antifungal Foot Powder, Lamisil AF Defense, Absorbine, and Ting Antifungal.

Aerosol

• 1%

Dosage Considerations – Should be Given as Follows:

Superficial Fungal Infections, Adult and Pediatric:

• Apply to affected area twice daily
• May treat for 2-3 weeks but 4-6 weeks of therapy may be needed if skin is hyperkeratotic

Other Indications and Uses

• Indicated for Tinea pedis, cruris, corporis, and versicolor, however, may want to use selenium sulfide 2.5% or clotrimazole 1% for Tinea versicolor

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
