Yohimbine

Yohimbine is a sympatholytic and mydriatic drug used to treat impotence in male patients with vascular or diabetic origins and psychogenic origins.

Yohimbine is available under the following different brand names: Aphrodyne, and Yocon.

Tablets

• 5.4 mg

Dosage Considerations – Should be Given as Follows:

Impotence, aphrodisiac

• 0.5-1 tablet/caplet three times daily
• Pediatric: Safety and efficacy not established

Common side effects of Yohimbine include:

• Anxiety
• Irritability
• Headache
• Sweating
• Nausea
• Fast heart rate
• Prolonged or painful erection (priapism)
• Worsening of panic attacks
• Vomiting
• Dizziness
• Nervousness
• Restlessness
• Reduced urination
• Elevated blood pressure
• Tremors
• Skin flushing

• phenelzine
• procarbazine
• selegiline transdermal

Yohimbine has serious interactions with at least 30 different drugs.

Yohimbine has moderate interactions with at least 168 different drugs.

Mild interactions of yohimbine include:

• american ginseng
• desmopressin
• eucalyptus
• guarana
• sage
• yerba mate

Warnings

This medication contains yohimbine. Do not take Aphrodyne or Yocon if you are allergic to yohimbine or any ingredients contained in this drug.

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
