Cantil (Mepenzolate Bromide) side effects drug center
Cantil (mepenzolate bromide) is an anticholinergic drug used to treat peptic ulcers of the stomach. Cantil does not help heal an ulcer. Common side effects of Cantil include:
- dry mouth
- decreased sweating
- dizziness
- drowsiness
- headache
- blurred vision
- widened pupils
- nausea
- vomiting
- constipation
- memory problems
- problems with balance or coordination
- bloating
The usual adult dose of Cantil is 1 or 2 tablets (25 or 50 mg) 4 times a day preferably with meals and at bedtime. Cantil may interact with amantadine, nitroglycerin, heart rhythm medicines, sedatives, antidepressants, medicines to treat Parkinson's disease, and cold or allergy medicines containing antihistamines. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. During pregnancy, Cantil should be used only if prescribed. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
