What Is Analpram HC?
Analpram HC (hydrocortisone acetate 2.5% pramoxine HCl 1%) Cream 2.5% is a topical corticosteroid and anti-itching combination drug used to treat pain, itching, or inflammation of the skin caused by a number of conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, psoriasis, insect bites, and minor burns or scrapes. Analpram HC is also used on the rectal area to treat itching and inflammation caused by hemorrhoids, anal fissures, or other rectal irritation. Analpram HC is available in generic form.
What Are Side Effects of Analpram HC?
Side effects of Analpram HC include:
- skin reactions (burning, irritation, dryness, redness, peeling),
- acne,
- changes in the color of treated skin,
- thinning of your skin,
- blistering skin, or
- stretch marks.
Dosage for Analpram HC
Analpram HC is supplied in four preparations: 1 oz tube, 4 gm tubes and 1 oz and 4gm Advanced Kits. Analpram HC is generally applied to the affected area as a thin film three to four times daily depending on the severity of the condition.

Analpram HC During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment with Analpram HC; it is unknown if it is harmful to a fetus. It is unknown if Analpram HC topical passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you show signs of absorbing too much of the medicine through your skin, such as:
- blurred vision, eye pain, or seeing halos around lights;
- mood changes;
- sleep problems (insomnia);
- high blood sugar (increased thirst or urination, hunger, dry mouth, fruity breath odor,weight loss);
- weight gain, puffiness in your face; or
- muscle weakness, feeling tired.
Stop using the medicine and call your doctor if you have rectal bleeding or severe irritation in any treated skin.
Common side effects may include:
- mild redness or swelling of treated skin;
- thinning of treated skin; or
- numbness on areas where the medicine is accidentally applied.
