Are Cozaar and Lisinopril the Same Thing?
Cozaar (losartan) and lisinopril are used to treat hypertension.
Lisinopril is also used to treat congestive heart failure and to improve survival after a heart attack.
Cozaar and lisinopril belong to different drug classes. Cozaar is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and lisinopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE).

How Should Cozaar Be Taken?
Dosing preparations of Cozaar are 25, 50, and 100 mg tablets. Drug interactions with Cozaar may occur with inhibitors of cytochrome P450, potassium- sparing diuretics, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Cozaar should not be used during pregnancy, and it is not known whether it is excreted in breast milk.
How Should Lisinopril Be Taken?
The recommended initial dose of Lisinopril is 10 mg once a day. Lisinopril is taken orally in tablet form.
