Flomax (tamsulosin hydrochloride) and Cialis (tadalafil) are used to treat the symptoms of a prostate gland condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland) and Cialis is also used for treating impotence (erectile dysfunction, or ED).

Flomax and Cialis belong to different drug classes. Flomax is an alpha-blocker and Cialis is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor.

Common side effects of Flomax include:

• dizziness,
• lightheadedness,
• weakness,
• drowsiness,
• headache,
• nausea,
• diarrhea,
• back pain,
• blurred vision,
• dental problems,
• sleep problems (insomnia),
• abnormal ejaculation,
• decreased sex drive,
• runny or stuffy nose,
• sore throat, or
• cough.

Common side effects of Cialis include:

• flushing (redness or warmth of the face, neck, or chest),
• headaches,
• stomach upset,
• diarrhea,
• flu-like symptoms (such as stuffy nose, sneezing, or sore throat),
• memory problems,
• muscle or back pain,
• nausea,
• low blood pressure,
• dizziness,
• blurred vision and changes in color vision,
• abnormal ejaculation, and
• prolonged erections (priapism).

Flomax (tamsulosin hydrochloride) is an alpha-blocker used to treat the symptoms of a prostate gland condition called BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia).

Cialis is a prescription medicine taken by mouth for the treatment of:

• men with erectile dysfunction (ED)
• men with symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
• men with both ED and BPH

Flomax may interact with conivaptan, imatinib, isoniazid, antibiotics, antidepressants, antifungals, heart or blood pressure medications, or HIV/AIDS medicines.

Flomax may also interact with cimetidine, cyclosporine, methimazole, pioglitazone, ropinirole, ticlopidine, warfarin, anti-malaria medications, erectile dysfunction medicines, heart rhythm medications, or medicines to treat psychiatric disorders.

Do not take Cialis if you:

• take any medicines called "nitrates".
• use recreational drugs called "poppers" like amyl nitrite and butyl nitrite.
• take any medicines called guanylate cyclase stimulators, such as riociguat.
• are allergic to Cialis or Adcirca, or any of its ingredients.

Call your healthcare provider or get help right away if you have any of the symptoms of an allergic reaction listed above.

Flomax capsules 0.4 mg once daily is recommended as the dose for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of BPH and dosing should be taken by mouth, usually once daily.

• Take the first dose at bedtime to minimize the chances of getting dizzy or fainting.
• After the first dose, take your regularly scheduled dose 30 minutes after the same meal each day.
• Drug interaction and warnings include that Flomax capsules should not be used in combination with other alpha andrenergic blocking agents.
• It should not be used in combination with strong inhibitors of CYP3A4 (e.g., ketoconazole).

Take Cialis exactly as your healthcare provider prescribes it. Your healthcare provider will prescribe the dose that is right for you.

Some men can only take a low dose of Cialis or may have to take it less often, because of medical conditions or medicines they take.

Do not change your dose or the way you take Cialis without talking to your healthcare provider. Your healthcare provider may lower or raise your dose, depending on how your body reacts to Cialis and your health condition.

Cialis may be taken with or without meals.

If you take too much Cialis, call your healthcare provider or emergency room right away.
