Jatenzo vs. Xyosted

Are Jatenzo and Xyosted the Same Thing?

Jatenzo (testosterone undecanoate) and Xyosted (testosterone enanthate) injection are androgens indicated for testosterone replacement therapy in adult males for conditions associated with a deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone.

Side effects of Jatenzo and Xyosted that are similar include high red blood cell count (polycythemia), swelling of extremities, increased hematocrit, headache, enlarged prostate, and high blood pressure (hypertension).

Side effects of Jatenzo that are different from Xyosted include diarrhea, indigestion/heartburn, belching, and nausea.

Side effects of Xyosted that are different from Jatenzo include increased prostatic specific antigen (PSA), injection site reactions (bruising, bleeding, redness), back pain, increased blood creatine phosphokinase, acne, increased blood testosterone, cough, urinary tract infection (UTI), abdominal pain, joint pain, fatigue, blood in urine, and sleep apnea.

Both Jatenzo and Xyosted may interact with insulin, anticoagulants, corticosteroids, or medications that increase blood pressure.

Jatenzo may also interact with corticosteroids.
