Dovato (dolutegravir and lamivudine) and Triumeq (abacavir, dolutegravir, and lamivudine) contain combinations of integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs) and nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) and are used to treat human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection.

Side effects of Dovato and Triumeq that are similar include headache, diarrhea, nausea, insomnia, fatigue, and dizziness.

Side effects of Triumeq that are different from Dovato include vomiting, fever, loss of appetite, low energy, nightmares or abnormal dreams, abnormal body fat distribution, numbness and tingling, hypersensitivity reactions (fever, rash, shortness of breath, cough, or sore throat), joint pain or swelling, muscle pain, swelling of extremities, depression, and spinning sensation (vertigo).

Both Dovato and Triumeq may interact with other antiretroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV-1 infection, metformin, and dofetilide.

Dovato may also interact with anticonvulsants, rifampin, St. John's wort, cation-containing antacids or laxatives, sucralfate, buffered medications, oral calcium and iron supplements (including multivitamins containing calcium or iron), and sorbitol.

Dovato (dolutegravir and lamivudine) is a combination of an integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI) and a nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) indicated as a complete regimen for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection in adults with no antiretroviral treatment history and with no known substitutions associated with resistance to the individual components of Dovato.

Triumeq (abacavir, dolutegravir, and lamivudine) is a combination of an integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI) and two nucleoside analogues used to treat human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV1) infection.

Dovato may interact with other antiretroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV-1 infection, dofetilide, metformin, anticonvulsants, rifampin, St. John's wort, cation-containing antacids or laxatives, sucralfate, buffered medications, oral calcium and iron supplements (including multivitamins containing calcium or iron), and sorbitol.

Triumeq may interact with dofetilide and other drugs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use.

The dose of Dovato is one tablet taken orally once daily with or without food.

The adult dose of Triumeq is one tablet daily.
