Definition of Hip Subluxation
Hip subluxation is a condition in which the bones of the hip joint are not positioned properly. With subluxation, the ball of the thighbone (femur) is not fully present in its normal location within the socket of the hip bone. A subluxation can be considered as a partial dislocation of a joint. A hip subluxation can cause symptoms and signs such as limited range of motion of the hip. Injuries are a common cause of hip subluxation and dislocation.
