Definition of Conjunctival Foreign Body Removal
Medically reviewed by Min Clinic Staff | Updated: January 2026
Conjunctival foreign body removal involves the removal of a foreign object from the lining tissues of the eye, the conjunctiva. An eye doctor performs this procedure; it may involve irrigation with sterile fluid, which may wash the object away. Other techniques that a doctor may use to remove a foreign body include using a sterile swab, spatula, small needle, or other instrument to remove the object.
