Erosive osteoarthritis: an inflammatory form of osteoarthritis that leads to bone erosion in the finger joints. The inflammation results in erosions and irregular growth of bone around the finger joints. Symptoms include pain, swelling, redness, warmth and reduced function of the hand joints. The diagnosis is made based on characteristic findings of bone erosion on imaging studies along with the typical symptoms.
