Definition of Ear tag

Ear tag: A rudimentary tag of ear tissue, often containing a core of cartilage, usually located just in front of the ear (auricle). This minor anomalyis common and harmless. However, the presence of two or more minor anomalies such as this one in a child increases the probability that the child has a major malformation. Also known as preauricular tag.
